Recent developments:

Jeff Wall is a canadian artist whose photography is a good example of photography as an artform. His work has clearly been influenced by fine art and classical painting. The colours is his photography are often balanced well and the contrast from light to dark in some images such as the one below are very extreme. The shadows look particularly dark which is likely intentional and creates a very unsettling image.





Martin Parr is a British photographer whose work documents the intimate and satirical. His work captures the British way of life superbly. His work is very striking with often surreal composition. As someone who didn’t have a holiday outside of the UK until my adult years some of his pieces including The Last Resort and Cost of Living, I was reminded of the holidays of my youth and time spent with my family.
